The Coen brothers are teaming up again with No Country for Old Men (one of the best movies of 2007) producer Scott Rudin to adapt Michael Chabon’s The Yiddish Policeman’s Union (one of the best books of 2007) for the big screen. The over/under on Oscar nominations for when this movie gets made is 4.5.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see George Clooney end up in this also.

George Clooney playing a verbover? or a huge Jewish detective?

Also, I’m not sure I’d call YPU one of the best of 2007. I’d say it was one of Chabon’s weaker efforts.

The novel does seem to be a good match for the Coen Brothers. Plenty of violence and deadpan humor.

Holy crap! This excites me a lot!
I agree with Mikey, not Chabon’s best, but I feel like with the Coen brothers, it will come out pretty damn well.
